CMH And Marysville Sport & Rec To Sponsor Free Babysitting Course

MARYSVILLE – Be the best babysitter you can be! A free course on the basics of babysitting will be offered to young adults ages 11-14 on Monday, May 6, from 8 am – Noon. The course will be held at Community Memorial Healthcare (CMH) in the South Plaza Conference room, and will be led by trained healthcare and emergency professionals.

“It has been a long time since a babysitting clinic was offered in our communities, and there is a whole generation of kids who need this information going forward,” said Brian Fragel, director at Marysville Sport & Recreation, one of the event co-hosts.

The class will provide a basic understanding of small children and infants, including diaper changing, feeding, etc., general information on safety and emergency procedures like how to call 911, and what to do if someone is choking or needs CPR, fire safety, and will also teach a few games and songs to entertain small children.

The class is limited to the first 30 participants. Muffins and juice will be served during break. To register your child, please visit Marysville Sport & Rec or Marysville Health & Fitness to pick up a registration form, and return to Marysville Sport & Rec by Friday, May 3. Registration forms will be sent home with Marysville 5th and 6th graders, and they can also be found on the CMH Facebook event page.
