MARYSVILLE – Join Community Memorial Healthcare (CMH) for lunch on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, for the monthly Sterling Connection Lunch Bunch. The topic will be “Digging Deep with Dementia”, presented by Mandy Becker, co-founder and director of The Lighthouse. Becker says there are many ways to support a patient with dementia, whether you’re a caregiver, friend or family member, or even if you’re experiencing early signs yourself.
The Lighthouse is a memory support residence on the outskirts of Marysville designed to care for up to eight individuals living with cognitive impairment. Nestled into a hill on four prairie-grassland acres, The Lighthouse’s scope of work is designed to serve each individual’s physical, social, and spiritual needs. They provide 24-hour nursing services, have a caregiver-resident ratio of 1:4, are specially trained in Dementia and Alzheimer’s care, and offer reminiscence, music, pet and aroma therapies and intergenerational programs to residents.
Designed as a health and wellness program for people 50 and older, Sterling Connection members can attend the CMH Lunch Bunch, the hospital’s monthly program series that features a healthy lunch and guest speaker. The luncheon is held the first Wednesday of each month from 12-1 p.m. Lunch is served at 11:45 a.m., and costs $5. Please RSVP to Ashley Kracht, director of Public Relations and Marketing, by calling 785-562-2311.
To be added to the Sterling Connection mailing list for notification of future luncheon programs, please contact Kracht at the number above, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
