Kansas Medicaid Program Receives $2.5 Million Grant for School Health Initiatives

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has secured a $2.5 million grant from CMS for implementing School-Based Services (SBS) in the KanCare Medicaid program. This grant aims to improve health care services in Kansas schools, particularly for mental health. Initiatives include enrollment assistance, provision of Medicaid-covered health services, and enhanced outreach to promote student health and wellness.

KDHE announces KanCare Managed Care Organizations Contracts

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has selected three managed care organizations (MCOs) to serve the Kansas Medicaid program, KanCare, from 2025 to 2027. This includes two incumbents and one new organization. The selection process involved extensive input and will bring improvements such as enhanced care coordination and expanded access to services.
