KINGMAN COUNTY, Kan. — Law enforcement authorities in Kingman County are investigating a local school district employee following his arrest late Tuesday night on requested charges related to child sex crimes.
Tony R. Streight, 47, was booked into the Kingman County Jail shortly after 11:30 p.m. on requested charges of rape and indecent liberties with a child, according to online jail records.
Streight is employed by the USD 331 Kingman-Norwich school district, where he works as a bus driver and a teacher assistant at a district preschool.
In a notification sent to district families, USD 331 administration confirmed that Streight was immediately stripped of all duties pending the outcome of the legal process. The district noted that the alleged incident did not occur on school grounds or during school-sanctioned activities.
According to online jail records, Streight remains in custody at the Kingman County Jail on a $100,000 bond. The investigation by law enforcement remains ongoing.
