SALINE COUNTY, Kan. — A former Salina South Middle School teacher has entered a guilty plea to drug and alcohol-related charges involving underage students, according to court documents filed on August 3.
Amanda Freeman, 48, pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanor count of furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors.
The investigation into Freeman began in September 2025 after a parent of a 16-year-old boy contacted the Salina Police Department to report suspicious text messages between the teenager and the teacher. Authorities subsequently launched an investigation into allegations that Freeman had supplied alcohol and THC products to underage students.
Following her plea entry, Freeman is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on October 6.
