Local Youth Advance to State Competition Following Mitchell County Fair Pedal Pull

BELOIT, Kan. — Young competitors brought their determination and pedal power to the Mitchell County Fair on Saturday, July 25, as the Siruta Pedal Pullers hosted this year’s Kid’s Pedal Pull.

The event showcased top local talent across nine age divisions, earning several area youth coveted qualification spots for the upcoming Kansas State Fair Pedal Pull Championship.

Standout performances came from four drivers who achieved maximum distance with impressive “Full Pulls” of 30 feet: Colt Shoemaker (5-year-olds), Walker Mellies (7-year-olds), Clayton Dowell (9-year-olds), and Trey Mellies (10-year-olds).

The qualified state contenders will travel to Hutchinson for the championship event, scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Heartland Credit Union Pavilion. Action begins at 1:00 p.m.
