MCAC Kicks Off Four-Night Trivia Series March 7

The Marshall County Arts Cooperative will launch a four-night trivia series with Trivia Night at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art, 201 S. 9th St. in Marysville.

The event is a fundraiser for the arts cooperative and the first stop in a countywide series. The top two teams from each event will advance to a Tournament of Champions planned for the fall. Dates and locations for the remaining trivia nights and the Tournament of Champions will be announced soon.

Teams may register for $200 per team, with up to eight players. Individuals may register for $25. Those who sign up solo can be paired with a team.

“Everybody knows somebody who’s good at trivia,” said Chris Felder, vice president of the Marshall County Arts Cooperative. “Bring the history buff, the movie person and the one who remembers every random fact. It’s competitive, but it’s mostly an excuse to laugh.  Events like this help us keep bringing artists and live shows into the county.”

Prize money will be awarded to the top teams, with $500 for first place and $250 for second place.

Participants may bring their own snacks and drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

To register, call or text 785-859-4260 or email marshallcountyarts@gmail.com.

Funds raised through events like Trivia Night support arts programming throughout Marshall County, including artist residencies, school performances and public concerts. Later this month, for example, the arts cooperative will host the Chardon Polka Band for a Feb. 25-28 residency that includes daytime performances at every elementary school in Marshall County and at Blue Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Blue Rapids plus public concerts in Marysville and Vermillion.
