Bridge Replacement Project To Begin On K-18 East of Lincoln

The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a bridge replacement on K-18 in Lincoln County on Monday, June 30.

The replacement is necessary as the bridge has reached the end of its life expectancy. The new box bridge will be double the length with improved roadside slopes and serve the traveling public for years to come.

The bridge is located about 6.5 miles east of the city of Lincoln on K-18, just east of Beverly.

During construction, temporary traffic signals will direct one lane of traffic through the work zone at a reduced speed.

Klaver Construction Company Inc., of Wichita, is the prime contractor for this $1.1 million project, which is estimated to be completed in early November, weather permitting.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
