WICHITA, KS – The Wichita Police Department is actively seeking the public’s assistance in locating 20-year-old Jerry Johnson, a suspect implicated in a fatal shooting that occurred on February 11th. This comes as authorities have already apprehended two individuals in connection with the homicide.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Johnson for his alleged involvement in the incident.
According to Wichita Police Department spokesperson Brad Wright, officers responded to a shooting report in the 1200 block of S. Bleckley at approximately 6:00 p.m. on February 11th. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Manuel Roach suffering from a gunshot wound. Roach was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a disturbance involving Roach and three unidentified males, all dressed in black, preceded the shooting. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a white SUV before law enforcement arrived. The exact circumstances leading to the altercation remain under investigation, though police believe it was a targeted incident involving individuals known to each other.
During the course of the investigation, 18-year-old Sergio Clement arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. Subsequent inquiries revealed that Clement and 21-year-old Alan Griffin, Jr. were involved in the fatal shooting of Roach. Both Clement and Griffin were arrested and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail.
The Wichita Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jerry Johnson or any details pertaining to this case to come forward.
