Concordia House Fire Claims One Life, Investigation Underway

CONCORDIA, KS – A house fire on East 5th Street in Concordia Thursday morning resulted in the death of one man, while two other residents escaped. Authorities are now working to determine the cause of the blaze.

Emergency services were dispatched to the 200 block of East 5th Street shortly after 11 a.m. following a 911 call reporting a structure fire. Upon arrival, Concordia police and firefighters found a significant fire engulfing the residence.

Two residents managed to evacuate the home, but reported that a third person was still trapped inside. Officials have identified the deceased as 58-year-old Marcus Stedman.
