Z-96.3 Remains Off-Air; Programming Continues Online

The latest round of winter weather over the weekend has caused 96.3 FM to remain off-the-air in North Central Kansas. Around 1:00 p.m. Saturday, our transmitter shut down to protect itself from damage after ice buildup on our broadcast antenna in Glen Elder caused a power overload. Unfortunately, it takes sunshine and temperatures above freezing to melt the ice away from the antenna. Fortunately, KD Country 94, broadcasting on 94.1 FM, remained on-the-air and is currently broadcasting at full power in North Central Kansas.

Listeners within a 75-mile distance of Cawker City, Kansas will be able to listen online to the Kansas Jayhawks basketball game tonight as they face Arizona State from Allen Fieldhouse. Pregame coverage from the Jayhawk Sports Network begins at 7:30 p.m. on the free Z-96.3 The Lake app for iPhone and Android, as well as our website at MyZ963.com.

We will keep checking, and will post here when we get back on the air.
