Confidence is increasing that a period of freezing drizzle will develop during the daytime hours Saturday, from south to north, prior to the arrival of snow. Air temperatures will be quite cold in the teens and 20s, so any freezing drizzle will be very effective at causing a glaze of ice on untreated surfaces and making roads slick. Freezing drizzle should change to snow Saturday evening and overnight.

Here is a look at the areas that are most favored to see 6 inches or more of snow this weekend.

The potential for a light glaze of ice has increased across the entire area. This will occur primarily during the day on Saturday.
