Marshall County Meeting Summary – November 18, 2024

The Board of Marshall County Commissioners met in regular session with Keith Bramhall, chairman, Fritz Blaske, member, Jon Ungerer, member and County Clerk Sandra K. Wilson present. Chris Pannbacker with the Marysville Advocate was also present for the meeting. Greg Meyer and Austin Cline were also present to observe the meeting.

Commissioner Bramhall called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. The meeting was opened with the flag salute.

Fritz Blaske moved, seconded by Jon Ungerer to approve the minutes of the 11/12/24 & 11/14/24 meetings and the agenda for today’s meeting. Unanimous.

County Clerk Sandy Wilson informed the Board that a recount request has been received for the Hospital Sales Tax question. This recount will begin at 1:00 p.m. today with a Board of 6 poll workers.

Fritz Blaske moved, seconded by Jon Ungerer to approve the following purchase orders. Unanimous.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig met with the Board. Hamm’s sent notice that there will be a 10% increase in the price of rock for the upcoming year.

Keith Bramhall moved, seconded by Fritz Blaske to allocate $225,000 from the Irish Creek payment to Road & Bridge for the 2025 budget year. Unanimous.

Keith Bramhall moved, seconded by Jon Ungerer to go into executive session per KSA 75-4319(b)(2) to discuss matters of attorney client privileged discussions – litigation with the Board, County Counselor Anthony Bruna and Public Works Administrator Mike Craig present to return to open session in the Board meeting room at 9:25 a.m. Unanimous.

Keith Bramhall moved, seconded by Jon Ungerer to extend the executive session per KSA 75-4319(b)(2) to discuss matters of attorney client privileged discussions – litigation with the Board and County Counselor Anthony Bruna present to return to open session in the Board meeting room at 9:30 a.m. Unanimous.

No action taken as a result of these executive sessions.

Register of Deeds Ruth Martin updated the Board that US Imaging will be back in the building Friday and over the weekend to again do some re-scanning.

The Board took some time to review the credit card bills being paid this week.

   Jamie Schneider-Tjaden from Clk I St II at $20.56/hr to Clk III at $21.41/hr effective 11/11/24.

Keith Bramhall moved, seconded by Fritz Blaske to move the next regularly scheduled meeting to Tuesday, November 26th beginning at 8:30 a.m. Unanimous.

The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Courthouse will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28th & 29th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
