Five Fatal Shootings in South Wichita

WICHITA, KANSAS – Wichita police are investigating a series of fatal shootings that occurred Sunday night in south Wichita.

Officers responded to a death investigation call around 6 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Santa Fe, where they found a deceased male with a gunshot wound.

While investigating this incident, officers also responded to another scene in the 1900 block of South Laura, where they discovered three additional victims with gunshot wounds. Tragically, all three succumbed to their injuries.

During a neighborhood canvass, officers found a fifth victim, a deceased male, inside a residence on South Laura.

Police believe that all five victims were known to each other and that one of them may have been the shooter. At this time, there is no threat to the public.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
