In Phillips County, an individual sustained injuries in an accident that occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Hayden J. Gottstine from Logan was operating a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling westbound on Kansas 9, approximately six miles west of U.S. 183. The incident transpired when the motorcycle collided with a deer that entered the roadway. Following the collision, the motorcycle came to a stop in the eastbound lane, oriented southward.
Emergency Medical Services subsequently transported Gottstine to Phillips County Hospital, and it was noted by the KHP that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
