Adult Mental Health First Aid Training In Clay Center

Ten spaces are still available for the Adult Mental Health Training coming up on Friday, April 26th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (6th & Clark) in Clay Center. The class hours are 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and there is a small fee for the Training – which includes lunch.

Do you work with people or families or want to be able to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders? One in five adults have a mental disorder every year. This might be anxiety, depression, bipolar, eating disorder, and other mental disorders.

The 8-hour training gives a person the skills needed to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care. Pawnee Mental Health staff will present the training. A Culture of Health Grant from K-State Research & Extension River Valley District provides the training.

To register, call the Clay Center River Valley Extension District Office at 785-632-5335. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to 25 people. For questions, contact District Extension Agent, Deanna Turner in Clay Center at 785-632-5335 or dturner@ksu.edu or Sonia Cooper at 785-325-2121 or srcooper@ksu.edu. All interested men and women are invited to attend!
