The North Central Kansas Kicks Jazz Band, under the sponsorship of Cloud County Community College, will begin its spring rehearsals on Wed., March 27.
The band will rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the music room on the Concordia campus. This semester’s director is John Banister, a trombone jazz master and veteran Kicks Jazz Band member from Minneapolis. The rehearsals will culminate in a joint concert with CCCC’s Community Chorale on May 7.
The NCK Kicks Jazz Band performs for community functions as well as on-campus concerts. They perform literature from the Big Band Era as well as modern jazz ensemble repertoire.
Community members and students are welcome to participate, and can take the class for college credit, or participate at no cost. For more information, contact Brenton Phillips, Dean of Humanities, Social Sciences and Business at 785.243.1435, ext. 244, or by email at bphillips@cloud.edu.
