May Total Tax Collections at $658.9 Million; 22.7% Below the Estimate

In May, Kansas's tax collections were $193.0 million (22.7%) below the estimate, with individual income tax collections at $305.2 million (32.2%) lower than estimated. Corporate income tax collections were $39.8 million (57.2%) below the estimate. Despite this, retail sales and compensating use tax receipts were slightly above the estimate. Total tax collections for FY 2024 through May are $8.977 billion, $92.0 million (1.0%) below the estimate.
