CLINTON LAKE, KS — Emergency crews are returning to the waters of Clinton Lake this morning to continue the search for a kayaker who disappeared Sunday evening.
The incident began just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, when authorities received a report of a boater in distress near the Clinton Marina. According to a statement from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the individual was in a kayak when the vessel tipped over. Witnesses reported that the kayaker entered the water and failed to resurface.

The initial rescue operation involved multiple emergency units, but as evening fell, the mission transitioned into a recovery effort.
