Topeka Woman Arrested on Drug Allegations in Sheriff’s Office Parking Lot

HOLTON, KS – A Topeka woman was arrested on drug allegations late Monday night in an unusual location: the parking lot of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, 60-year-old Colette McKinnon was taken into custody just after 10:30 p.m. on May 12th. The arrest occurred in the Sheriff’s Office parking lot.

Sheriff Morse stated that McKinnon was accompanying another individual who was at the Sheriff’s Office to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant.

Following the encounter, McKinnon was placed under arrest on a requested charge of possession of methamphetamine and subsequently booked into the Jackson County Jail. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
