Nashville, TN – Vietti Food Group is issuing a voluntary recall of 4,515 cases of its 15-ounce cans of Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans due to the presence of undeclared soy, the company announced today. This poses a serious health risk for individuals with soy allergies or sensitivities, who could experience severe or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the affected product.
The recalled baked beans were distributed to retailers across 23 states, including Kansas and Missouri, as well as Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Major retailers that carried the product include Walmart, Hy-Vee, and Meijer, along with other various stores.
Consumers can identify the recalled product by the following Lot Code: Best if Used By Feb 17, 2028. This code is printed on the bottom of each can.
Vietti Food Group stated that, to date, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with this recall. However, the company is urging consumers who have purchased the affected Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans to immediately return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
