Kansas City Sees Deadly Monday with Two Homicides

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City police are investigating two separate homicides that occurred on Monday evening.

The first incident took place just before 6 p.m. in the 3400 block of Wyoming, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino. Officers responding to a reported shooting found 20-year-old Zykevious L. Crosby suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving attempts by officers and subsequent treatment by EMS at a local hospital, Crosby was pronounced dead a short time later. Preliminary information suggests an altercation in the parking lot involving multiple individuals preceded the shooting. Detectives are currently working to establish the motive behind the incident.

At approximately the same time, officers were dispatched to the 8000 block of Hickman Mills for a reported medical call. Upon arrival, they discovered 64-year-old Zulfiqar Ladhani in the parking lot of a nearby convenience store, also suffering from a gunshot wound. Ladhani was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have released no further details regarding the second homicide, including any information about potential suspects or arrests. Both incidents are being investigated as homicides.
