In their season opener, the top-ranked Kansas Jayhawks cruised to an 87-57 victory over Howard University. Senior transfer Zeke Mayo led the way with 19 points in his Kansas debut.
The Jayhawks dominated the first half, leading by as much as 38 points. Hunter Dickinson, returning from injury, contributed 16 points and 6 rebounds. Flory Bidunga added 13 points and a game-high 8 rebounds.
Blake Harper led Howard with 16 points. However, the Bison struggled offensively, shooting just 24.1% from the field in the first half.
Kansas extended their home-opening win streak to 52 games. They will face a tough test next, hosting No. 9 North Carolina on Friday.
