In Marshall County District Court last week, Gerald Brown, a resident of Marysville, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting death of his wife in 2022. The charge he was convicted on was second-degree murder, following a plea deal made in October where he pleaded no contest to the reduced charge.
Initially facing a first-degree murder charge in the tragic death of his 57-year-old wife, Jennifer Brown, the case took a turn when Brown accepted the plea deal. The incident took place on November 24, 2022, when authorities responded to a 911 call at the couple’s residence in Marysville, discovering Jennifer Brown deceased from gunshot wounds. Upon arriving at the scene, Gerald Brown was taken into custody by law enforcement.
