Tuttle Creek Cove campground to close for maintenance

Tuttle Creek Lake, near Manhattan, Kansas, will be closing Tuttle Creek Cove campground starting April 10, 2023. Work is scheduled to take place throughout the campground from April 10 – May 19, 2023, but is subject to change due to weather. Any changes to the dates of closure will be posted as soon as they are made available by the contractor.

The entire park will be closed for public use for the duration of the work, which includes the boat ramp and pedestrian access. Work will also impact Stockdale Campground and portions of Outlet Park, including the stilling basin or “tubes” area. Dates for work on these areas are not yet known but will be posted as soon as they are made available.

While work is being done in Outlet Park, the road will be closed from Pfiel Creek Circle to the west entrance/exit of the state park on River Pond Road. Access to River Pond will remain available across the top of the dam off Highway 13. The western side of Outlet Park, located off Tuttle Creek Boulevard, will remain open.

Visitors still wishing to camp during this time are encouraged to go to Stockdale Campground, which is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground. Reservations for Stockdale Campground can be made at recreation.gov. Campers may also check with the Tuttle Creek State Park website by visiting www.campitks.com, or by calling 785-539-7941 to check for campsite availability.

Boaters impacted by the closure of the boat ramp inside Tuttle Creek Cove can utilize the ramp inside Cedar Ridge State Park, adjacent to Wildcat Marina. Anyone using this ramp will need a state park vehicle pass. Boaters can also use the ramps located at Mill Cove and Stockdale Campground. There is no charge for the use of these ramps.
