Marysville Resident Dies In Accident Along U.S. 77


A fatality accident was reported south of Marysville Tuesday morning, just after 6 a.m.

Mike Slupianek, age 60, of Marysville was southbound on U.S. Highway 77, just south of Indian Road. His vehicle left the road, and rolled, ejecting the driver. A passerby came upon the accident shortly after it happened, and reported to authorities.

An autopsy is being conducted Wednesday to determine if a medical issue may have led to the accident.

Mike Slupianek of Marysville was transported to Community Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Funeral services will be Friday at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville.

Through all of this, Derek continues to serve as the Digital Media Director for Sunflower State Radio, the digital and social media operations of Dierking Communications, Inc. and the 6 radio stations it owns and operates across Kansas.
