The Kansas Senate voted 34-4 to advance a tax reduction bill that had been negotiated by Gov. Laura Kelly and top Republican leaders. The bill includes changes to property and income taxes, as well as a provision to expand a childcare tax credit. Some senators expressed frustration with the compromises made in the bill. It is estimated to reduce state revenue by $380 million to $471 million annually over the next five fiscal years.
