Death due to Possible Rabies Infection Reported in Western Nebraska

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the Panhandle Public Health District are addressing a potential rabies infection-related death and taking preventive measures. They are identifying and offering post-exposure prophylaxis to individuals at risk. Rabies is preventable through vaccinations for pets and avoiding contact with wild animals.
