WAMEGO, Kan. — One person died early Sunday morning in a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) accident in rural Pottawatomie County, according to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office.
The single-vehicle crash happened shortly before 1 a.m. near Old Post Road and Genn Road, located northeast of Wamego. Investigators stated that two individuals were on board the UTV when it was involved in the accident.
During the incident, the passenger was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency medical services responded to the scene and pronounced the passenger dead. The driver of the UTV sustained no injuries.
Authorities have withheld the names of the individuals involved pending notification of family. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
