Bidunga Powers No. 11 Kansas Past Utah, 71-59, Ahead of Showdown With Top-Ranked Arizona

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Flory Bidunga delivered a dominant all-around performance with 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks as No. 11 Kansas defeated Utah 71-59 on Saturday, extending its winning streak to seven games.

Trey White added 16 points for the Jayhawks (18-5, 8-2 Big 12), while Darryn Peterson scored 14 and Melvin Council chipped in 11. Kansas controlled the game down the stretch to build momentum heading into a highly anticipated home matchup against top-ranked Arizona on Monday night.

Keanu Dawes led Utah (9-14, 1-9) with 20 points. Terrence Brown finished with 16 points, and Don McHenry added 12 for the Utes, who have now lost five consecutive games.

Kansas took a 38-31 lead into halftime but didn’t create significant separation until midway through the second half. Council’s short jumper sparked a decisive 10-0 run, which was punctuated by a thunderous dunk from Peterson that pushed the Jayhawks’ advantage to 60-44.

From there, Kansas leaned on its defense and rebounding to close out the win and continue its surge in Big 12 play.
