The Kansas Water Office’s (KWO) Solomon-Republican Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) is set to convene on Tuesday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., to delve into pressing water issues impacting both the region and the state. The meeting will be held at the Pioneer Seeds Meeting Room, located at 240 W. US Highway 24 in Downs, and will also offer a virtual attendance option via Zoom.

A key item on the agenda for this crucial gathering will be a discussion on the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) Budget and the opportunity for RAC members to provide their input. Attendees will also receive updates from both the KWO and the Kansas Water Authority (KWA), as well as individual reports from each RAC member.
The Solomon-Republican RAC plays a vital role in advising the KWO and KWA on local water-related concerns, serving as a direct link between the public and water management entities. The committee’s ongoing efforts address a range of issues, including surface water quality, sedimentation in reservoirs, and ensuring reliable water supply for various users.
The full agenda and supporting meeting materials will be made available on the Kansas Water Office website at kwo.ks.gov. Alternatively, copies can be requested by calling (785) 296-3185 or toll-free at (888) KAN-WATER (526-9283). Those wishing to attend virtually can request the Zoom link by emailing kwo.info@kwo.ks.gov.
