Blue Rapids & Waterville Mayors Issue Join Statement Regarding Halloween & Valley Heights Athletics

HALLOWEEN 2024: This year Halloween and district football (which our very own Valley Heights football team will be playing) fall on the same day. Also, supporters of the Valley Heights girls Volleyball team will be traveling Thursday to watch the Lady Mustangs play in the state tournament at Dodge City on Friday.

Some families in Blue Rapids and Waterville would like to have their trick-or-treaters participate in the Halloween celebration on Wednesday night due to being at the game on Thursday or traveling to Dodge City.

If you as a citizen would like to pass out candy to any participating trick-or-treaters Wednesday, Thursday, or both nights please be sure to have your porch lights on to so trick-or-treaters now you are home.

Parents and trick-or-treaters, please choose one night to trick-or-treat and be respectful as you are out Wednesday or Thursday and only go to homes that have their porch lights on.

We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!!

Jerry Zayas – Mayor of Blue Rapids
Rich Anderson – Mayor of Waterville
