Riley County Police Seek Information on Manhattan Assault

A young woman from the Wichita area was seriously injured after being attacked early Friday morning in Manhattan, Kansas. The victim was sent to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment.

According to authorities, the woman was last seen with friends in Aggieville late Thursday night but became separated from them as they were leaving. The Riley County Police Department confirmed that she was communicating with her friends until around 2:13 a.m. before the assault occurred in the 800 block of Laramie.

Police are currently investigating the incident and are seeking information from the public. They believe surveillance footage may help them retrace the victim’s steps and anticipate releasing further details later this week.

The department has also addressed misinformation circulating on social media regarding the attack. They urge the public to share any relevant information through proper channels.
