The Gage County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 75-year-old male sustained severe injuries after falling and being struck by his tractor. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 6:45 p.m. in Odell, where the man was standing in the front-end bucket of the tractor while working on his property.
According to Sheriff Millard Gustafson, the man lost his balance while attempting to lower the bucket, leading to his fall. Subsequently, he inadvertently engaged the tractor’s gear, resulting in him being run over by the vehicle. The sheriff’s office provided details of the unfortunate sequence of events that led to the man’s injuries.
Emergency response teams from Odell Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Fire and Rescue promptly arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance to the injured individual. Due to the severity of his injuries, Starcare Life Flight Helicopter was summoned to transport him from Odell to the hospital for further treatment.
