Mitchell County Commissioners 1/22/19

The Mitchell County Commissioners met on Tuesday, January 22nd.

Dennis Lutgen of Beloit informed the commissioners about a culvert that is plugged near 210 and A roads. Dale Housh, Mitchell County Highway Director,  Dale Housh, will check on the situation and report back to the commissioners, but the culvert wouldn’t be cleaned out until the area dries.

County Engineer Stewart Porter, discussed bridge repairs on the Mitchell-Jewell County line. The type of bridge or culvert will determine the final cost. The two bridges to be replaced are fracture critical bridges which require expensive inspections each year. The issue will be discussed further at the Jewell County commissioners meeting Feb. 11th.
