Super 8 of Beloit receives Pride of Super 8 award

The Super 8 of Beloit has announced that it has been awarded the “Pride of Super 8” Award by Wyndham Hotel Group which recognizes quality if stay and consumer choice int he top 8% of the 2,768 Super 8 hotels worldwide, and is ranked 89th of 1,704 properties in the United States putting the Super 8 of Beloit in the Top 5%.

To be eligible for the award, the hotel must meet the highest quality assurance standards, all franchise standards, and be rated top marks in customer surveys. Of the 2,768 hotels worldwide, only five in Kansas received this prestigious award this year.

The Super 8 of Beloit was also awarded the Tripadvisor “Certificate of Excellence” for the fourth year in a row as well as the Booking.com “Guest Review Award”. These awards are based solely on the opinions of consumers who have stayed at the hotel compared to all other hotels in Kansas.

“This is a direct result of the hard work of the outstanding staff,” said Janet Remus, the hotel’s general manager. “The staff works tremendously hard to make sure each guest nas an outstanding experience and the expectations are met. These awards are truly a celebration of work ethic, caring and pride in a job well done that our staff tirelessly puts in every single day. We as local owners take great pride in our community her in Mitchell County, and the staff shows us daily how wonderful the people of our community are.”

“Our guests are commenting constantly on what a great area this is, how kind and friendly the people are, and how welcome they feel. That speaks volumes to these wonderful folks traveling through and working in our area,” said Remus. “The local community as well as all of Mitchell County has been very supportive of the hotel and we greatly appreciate it. The Super 8 of Beloit is a 58 room hotel offering guests single, double and suite accommodations.

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids and graduated from Valley Heights High School in 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communications. In 2002 Derek joined Taylor Communications, Inc. in Salina, Kansas working in digital media for 550 AM KFRM and 100.9 FM KCLY. Following that stop, he joined Dierking Communications, Inc. stations KNDY AM & FM as a board operator and fill-in sports play-by-play announcer. Starting in 2005 Derek joined the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network as a Studio Coordinator at 101 The Fox in Kansas City, a role he would serve for 15 years culminating in the Super Bowl LIV Championship game broadcast. In 2021 he moved to Audacy, formerly known as Entercom Communications, Inc. and 106.5 The Wolf and 610 Sports Radio, the new flagship stations of the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, the largest radio network in the NFL. Through all of this, Derek continues to serve as the Digital Media Director for Sunflower State Radio, the digital and social media operations of Dierking Communications, Inc. and the 6 radio stations it owns and operates across Kansas.
