The Norton Co. Treasurer’s Office Tag Renewal Notice

The Norton Co. Treasurer’s office would like to remind that the deadline for businesses or persons whose last name begins with “J”, “K”, “L” to renew automobile, light trucks, motorcycles and motorized bike tags will be July 31, 2018. When renewing your vehicles, remember to include your current proof of insurance for all vehicles. We need to verify the VIN number, policy number and current expiration date. Business hours for renewing tags are Monday 8:00 – 4:30, Tuesday 8:30 – 4:30, then Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00 – 4:30.
Driver’s license renewals can be done Tuesday 8:30 – 4:00, then Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please bring with you a vehicle registration or utility bill with your name and physical address for address verification. We would like to remind the public that beginning October 1, 2020, in order to get on an airplane or enter into a federal building you will need a Real ID/DL. Required documentation for this include state issued birth certificate, social security card, along with proof of residency. There is more information available at ksrevenue.org. If you have a CDL or Conceal/Carry, you will need to go to a full-service office in either Phillipsburg, Hays or Colby to do your renewals.

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids and graduated from Valley Heights High School in 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communications. In 2002 Derek joined Taylor Communications, Inc. in Salina, Kansas working in digital media for 550 AM KFRM and 100.9 FM KCLY. Following that stop, he joined Dierking Communications, Inc. stations KNDY AM & FM as a board operator and fill-in sports play-by-play announcer. Starting in 2005 Derek joined the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network as a Studio Coordinator at 101 The Fox in Kansas City, a role he would serve for 15 years culminating in the Super Bowl LIV Championship game broadcast. In 2021 he moved to Audacy, formerly known as Entercom Communications, Inc. and 106.5 The Wolf and 610 Sports Radio, the new flagship stations of the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, the largest radio network in the NFL. Through all of this, Derek continues to serve as the Digital Media Director for Sunflower State Radio, the digital and social media operations of Dierking Communications, Inc. and the 6 radio stations it owns and operates across Kansas.
