KDHE Rescinded A Boil Water Advisory for the City of Norton

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a boil water advisory for the City of Norton.  The executive order issued on Tuesday, June 19th, regarding watering restrictions remains in effect until Sunday night, when the executive order will be modified to water conservation measures.  Beginning Sunday night on June 24th, even numbered addresses will be allowed to water on even numbered days, and odd numbered addresses will be allowed to water on odd numbered days.  Watering will only be allowed between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. on your designated day.

These water conservation measures will help assure the City of Norton maintaining water pressure in the system, which is the reason that KDHE issued the boil water advisory.  If we do not adhere to a water conservation at this time, we could see pressure drops below 20 psi, and KDHE would be required to issue another boil water advisory.

A thank you to all the citizens of Norton for adhering to the initial water restrictions during a time when we were not allowed to use treated surface water in our water system.  YOU ALL MADE A DIFFERENCE!
