Winter Weather Advisory Issued For The Area Sunday

An upper level disturbance will move east-southeast across southern Nebraska and northern Kansas and cause a band of moderate to at times heavy snowfall to develop along and north of a Belleville to Holton line late Sunday night through the afternoon hours of Sunday.

  • WHAT: Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected.
  • WHERE: Portions of north central and northeast Kansas.
  • WHEN: From 1 AM to 4 PM CDT Sunday.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Plan on slippery road conditions. Expect reduced visibilities at times.

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids and graduated from Valley Heights High School in 2000. In 2021 he moved to Audacy, formerly known as Entercom Communications, Inc. and 106.5 The Wolf and 610 Sports Radio, the new flagship stations of the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, the largest radio network in the NFL. Through all of this, Derek continues to serve as the Digital Media Director for Sunflower State Radio, the digital and social media operations of Dierking Communications, Inc. and the 6 radio stations it owns and operates across Kansas.
