Marshall County Commission Meeting Minutes – 2/12/18

The Board of Marshall County Commissioners met in regular adjourned session with Robert S. Connell and Lynn Feldhausen members and Sonya L. Stohs, County Clerk present.

Commissioner Connell will be the acting Chairman.

The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m.

The Board opened the meeting with the flag salute.

Steve Boyda, Marysville was present to observe the meeting.

The minutes and agenda were approved as presented upon a motion by Robert S. Connell seconded by Lynn Feldhausen. Motion carried.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig and Public Works Coordinating Supervisor Larry Polson met with the Board.

Lynn Feldhausen moved, seconded by Robert S. Connell to approve the Neighborhood Revitalization application for CJ Roberts Properties, Marysville, KS with the preconstruction pictures that were provided by the applicant. Motion carried.

Lynn Feldhausen moved, seconded by Robert S. Connell to approve the Home Sewer bills and pay them from the appropriate funds available. Motion carried.
Lynn Feldhausen moved, seconded by Robert S. Connell to approve the following purchase orders. Motion carried.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to go into executive session for ten minutes at 9:15 a.m. to discuss matters of nonelected personnel to assure compliance with policies and laws with County Clerk Sonya L. Stohs present. Motion carried. No action was taken as a result of executive session.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig met with the Board to present the following bids for an additional grapple for the second skid loader.

2016 Doughrety TG74HD – $3905.88
2016 Dougherty TG84HD – $4,376.47

KanEquip, Inc., Marysville, KS
82” Root Grapple – $2,789.20

Lynn Feldhausen moved, seconded by Robert S. Connell to approve the low bid from KanEquip, Inc., Marysville, KS for an 82” root grapple. Motion carried.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to approve the following purchase order. Motion carried.

County Counselor Jason Brinegar met with the Board.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to go into executive session for ten minutes at 9:28 a.m. to discuss matters of attorney client privilege with County Counselors Jason Brinegar present. Motion carried.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to approve the vouchers, as presented, and issue warrants from the respective funds. Motion carried.
The Board reviewed the County Inventory for 2017. Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to approve the 2017 Marshall County Inventory of all Departments as presented by the Marshall County Clerk’s Office. Motion carried.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to adjourn at 10:30 a.m. Unanimous. The next scheduled meeting will be Monday, February 20, 2018 starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Courthouse will be closed on Monday, February 19, 2018 to observe President’s Day.

Starting in 2005 Derek joined the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network as a Studio Coordinator at 101 The Fox in Kansas City, a role he would serve for 15 years culminating in the Super Bowl LIV Championship game broadcast. In 2021 he moved to Audacy, formerly known as Entercom Communications, Inc. and 106.5 The Wolf and 610 Sports Radio, the new flagship stations of the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, the largest radio network in the NFL. Through all of this, Derek continues to serve as the Digital Media Director for Sunflower State Radio, the digital and social media operations of Dierking Communications, Inc. and the 6 radio stations it owns and operates across Kansas.
