Commissioner Charles Posson called the meeting of the Norton Co Board of Commissioners to order at 9:00 AM on February 5, 2018 at the Commission Room. Attendance: Richard Thompson, Present: Charles Posson, Present: Thomas Brannan, Present.
Troy Thomson, Sheriff
Troy Thomson, Norton County Sheriff was in to speak with the commission on the City/County agreement for dispatch services. The city has recently expressed interest in reviewing the contract and discussing some of the contract terms. Troy gave the commission an overview of the contract and a review of the expenditures that are billed between the two entities.
Troy also informed the commission that he will be advertising for a dispatcher. With a recent resignation of a dispatcher the office will need to hire.
Road Department
White Star Equipment of Garden City, Titan Machinery Equipment of North Platte and Floyd Richard were present to submit bids for the Bobcat replacement. A couple options/machines were reviewed for consideration. Upon review of the bids Commissioner Thompson made a motion to accept the bid from Titan Machinery, Inc of North Platte for a 1770 T4 Compact track loader in the amount of$8,700.00. The motion was given a second by Commissioner Brannan. Motion passed 3-0.
The second set of bids opened was the replacement of the Bobcat at the Solid Waste site. White Star and Titan Machinery submitted bids for this machine as well. Upon the comparison and review, a motion was made by Commissioner Brannan to accept the bid from Titan Machinery for a T650 T4 in the amount of
$8,000 with a second from Commissioner Thompson. Motion passed 3-0.
January 31, 2018 Minutes
A motion was made by Commissioner Brannan to approve the January 31st minutes with a second from Commissioner Thompson. Motion passed 3-0.
Burn Ban
A motion was made by Commissioner Brannan to remove the county burn ban. The motion was given a second by Commissioner Thompson. Motion passed 3-0.
Agreement Services
The commission reviewed the contract between the City and County for the Rescue Unit. The commission requested that County Counselor R. Douglas Sebelius review the agreement and obtain some of the reports that are outlined within the agreement.
Adjournment
There being no further business before the Board the meeting was adjourned until 2/12/2018. The commission minutes are not considered official until signed and approved by the commission and will remain a working document until approved.
