The Jewell County Commissioners met July 24, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. with Commissioners, Steve Greene, Mark Fleming and Keith Roe present. Carla J. Waugh, County Clerk was present for the meeting.
Brian Shulda, Co-Chief of Jewell County Fire District #4, discussed the budget for the Jewell County Rescue Squad. He requested funds from the County to aid in the maintenance, repairs and equipment upgrades since the Rescue Squad covers the entire county.
Don Jacobs, Sheriff, discussed operations and personnel.
Darrell Miller, County Attorney, discussed Jewell County Hospital Board of Trustees term limits.
Don Jacobs, Sheriff, had the Special Response Team updated agreement to be signed. Steve Greene moved that the proper officer sign the updated Multi-Jurisdiction Special Response Team Interlocal Mutual Aid Agreement. Keith Roe seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
The minutes of the July 17, 2017 County Commissioners meeting were approved.
Steve Greene moved to adopt Resolution 17-08 pertaining to the County Appraiser. Mark Fleming seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Steve Greene moved to sign the Interlocal Agreement for County Appraiser with Harper County. Keith Roe seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Mark Fleming moved to approve and sign the employment agreement with Anna Porter as County Appraiser. Keith Roe seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Anna Porter signed the employment agreement.
Joel Elkins, General Superintendent, discussed personnel. Commissioners discussed road concerns.
Mark Fleming moved and Steve Greene seconded to appoint Linda Woerner as Brownscreek Township Clerk. Motion passed unanimously.
