Washington County Commission Meeting Minutes – 7/3/17

The Board of Washington County Commission met in regular session on Monday July 3, 2017 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Members present: Tim Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, David Willbrant, 2nd District Commissioner, Gary Ouellette, 3rd District Commissioner, and Diana Svanda, County Clerk to record minutes.

Consent Agenda items:
Bills & Payroll Totaling 446,936.12
Water Pollution Control Permit
Signed Payroll Change notice – Francine Crome
Senior Citizens Budget Request
David Willbrant made the motion to approve the consent agenda, Gary Ouellette seconded the motion, all in favor, motion passed.

Diana Svanda, County Clerk gave the commissioners information on the 2018 Health Ins., Washington County Employees are paying 20% of the state suggested rate with the county paying the rest. A copy of the 2018 rates can be picked up in the clerk’s office.

David Willbrant made the motion to appoint Douglas Jueneman as Independence Twp Trustee, Gary Ouellette seconded the motion, all in favor motion passed.

Gloria Moore, Tourism Director reported on her department.

Beverly Finlayson – Tim Mueller ask Bev if she would be interested in the Appraiser position, Bev is not but is willing to take the interim Appraiser position, not to exceed 6 months. Gary Ouellette made the motion to hire Bev as the interim Washington County Appraiser until an Appraiser is hired, David Willbrant seconded the motion, motion carried. Resolution Number 6-17 was signed hiring Bev as the Interim Appraiser.

County Commissioners worked on county budget.

Gary Ouellette reported, that he was notified by Dan Meyer that there was a culvert on upland road that needs looked at.

Commissioners have decided to up the County Attorney budget to allow for a full time Legal Assistant.

David Willbrant made the motion to adjourn @ 11:16 AM Gary Ouellette seconded the motion, motion carried.

Washington County Offices will be closed July 4, 2017 for Independence Day.

Next regular meeting will be July 10, 2017

In 2021 he moved to Audacy, formerly known as Entercom Communications, Inc. and 106.5 The Wolf and 610 Sports Radio, the new flagship stations of the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, the largest radio network in the NFL. Through all of this, Derek continues to serve as the Digital Media Director for Sunflower State Radio, the digital and social media operations of Dierking Communications, Inc. and the 6 radio stations it owns and operates across Kansas.
