The June meeting of Norton City/County Economic Development was called to order by Chairman Bradley Hopkins at 5:36 pm on June 20, 2017 at the Economic Development office. Members present included: Wally Burton, Curtis Eveleigh, Aaron Hale, Bradley Hopkins, Gayle James, Jerry Jones, Jim Miller, Charles “Bud” Posson, Mike Posson and Dick Thompson. Absent was Amber Nuttycomb. Also present were Keli Habiger, Executive Director and Verla Grysch, Administrative Coordinator.
Jerry Jones moved to approve the May 9, 2017 minutes as written and Dick Thompson seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously.
Executive Director Keli Habiger updated the board on the approved Network Kansas E-Community loans that both the E-community Leadership Team and Financial Review Board have approved. Ms. Habiger was excited to announce there are two new businesses coming to town and two succession plans for current businesses.
Aaron Hale moved to approve resolution number 2017-02 renewing the KCAMP Insurance. Jim Miller seconded the motion, the motion was approved unanimously.
Ms. Habiger updated the board on the upcoming Free Business Entity/Tax Workshop that Economic Development is hosting on June 29th from 11-1 at the Colby Community College – Norton Campus. The money raised from the sale of tax credit provides the funding to supply lunch and to host this event free to all Norton County Businesses.
With no further agenda items Board Member Thompson moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:48 pm. Charles “Bud” Posson seconded the motion and the motion was passed unanimously.
